| Auditions for Fall semester 2008 to major in Commercial Music Performance on Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano, or Vocals begin May 8, 2008. Audition times are available every Tuesday and Thursday throughout May with addtional audition times available throughout the summer TBA. However, space in the program will be awarded to successful auditionees on a first-come-first-serve basis. So call now at 409.984.6520 to schedule your auditon. | LSC-PA Studio Facilities Offer Multiple Platforms |
| It is primary to our mission here at LSC-PA that our students graduate into the real world with hands-on knowledge of a wide variety of recording platforms. Studio A is oufitted with a Mac-based Pro Tools and Nuendo control. Studio B offers PC-based Pro Tools and Cubase 4. Studio C avails our students to 10 IMac workstations with Pro Tools LE. Finally, Analog has joined the family of LSC-PA Recording Studio platforms with the addition of a MCI-JH24 Analog 24 Track Tape Recorder, a MCI-Autolocator III, and a Peavy AMR 1600 Audio Console. Students now have the opportunity to learn how to record by tape, and digitally via Pro Tools (both Mac and PC), Nuendo, and Cubase 4. |

About Lamar State College - Port Arthur
Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a two-year, state-supported institution, is a member of The Texas State University System. Located in the city of Port Arthur, an industrial and cultural center of Southeast Texas, the Lamar State College - Port Arthur campus contains 22 buildings situated on approximately 40 acres. The city of Port Arthur features modern public schools, churches, shopping districts and recreation areas serving a community of approximately 70,000 persons. The greater metropolitan area, known as the Golden Triangle, includes the cities of Beaumont, Orange, Vidor, Port Neches, Nederland, Groves and Bridge City. Lamar State College - Port Arthur offers general academic course leading to Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. Courses for transfer to four-year institutions are offered in accounting, economics, anthropology, art, government, health, home economics, physical education, physics, history, speech, computer science, mathematics, psychology, biology, chemistry, geography, geology, sociology, criminal justice, music, drama, English and Spanish.
The technical education curriculum at Lamar State College - Port Arthur includes programs in commercial music, accounting, automotive technology, computer information systems, cosmetology, industrial instrumentation, legal assistant, management development, medical assistant, medical office administration, microcomputer support specialist, substance abuse counseling, surgical technology, vocational nursing and registered nursing.
